My study abroad experience was part of my current internship at the Arkansas World Trade Center (ARWTC) in Rogers, Arkansas. The University of Arkansas holds the license for the ARWTC. Both the Center for Retailing Excellence and the Career Development Center at the Walton College of Business helped make this opportunity a reality. While in Italy, I visited the Pescara-Chieti World Trade Center on the east coast of Italy and I also visited 7 Italian companies while in the country, over a 6-week period. Companies ranged from a large pasta company to a dessert company to a massive olive oil production company. Overall, the experience was perfect for me to gain a better understanding of the wide world of business and it also provided me the opportunity to experience another culture, different than my own.
The photo comes from a large piazza in Padova (Padua), Italy. On a mostly clear night with a band playing in the background, a large thunderstorm was approaching from the west behind the large estate you see pictured. Padova has one of the oldest Universities in the world, dating back to 1222. Timing was a big part in getting this photo. Thank you for the considering the photo!
