The study abroad trips are not just about seeing new places and studying the architecture and art. So much of the magic and experience of these trips is in experiencing the cultures of the countries. It's about experiencing a different way of life and realizing that there is so much to life than what we learn by staying in the "safety zone" of the culture in which we are raised. Living like the people in the countries you are visiting enables you to feel connected with the local people and makes your experience more vivid and real.
